Microsoft is all set to bring its digital assistant Cortana application to Android and iOS devices. This is yet one more reason to buy a Windows phone. This is news that would really bring happiness to iOS and Android device users.

Android and iOS device users will be happy to hear that software giant Microsoft will be bringing its digital assistant Cortana to the competing mobile platforms very soon. Though there is no solid information published by Microsoft as to when the application will be launched, there is a small hint that has come from Microsoft which suggests that it could be sometime this fall.

This means that the Cortana app will be launched more or less at the same time when Microsoft launches Windows 10. There are also reports that Microsoft is working on integrating Cortana into Windows 10.

The CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella said that the plan to bring Cortana to all other mobile platforms other than Windows is a step taken by Microsoft so that it can reach Microsoft’s services to a lot of users. This will help Microsoft to increase their user base rather than trying to get users to switch to their operating systems. There is no doubt that Microsoft will be able to gain more users by offering tools like Cortana on other operating systems.

This decision might not go well with Windows Phone users as they will just now have a few exclusive features to use. Cortana was one of the main selling applications for Windows Phone OS and now it will be moving to other platforms as well. Microsoft is also working on a major update to the virtual assistant that uses “Einstein” research. The company hopes that Einstein will be able to transform Cortana into a super intelligent agent that can anticipate the needs of the users.
