New Security Updates to Come Up For Google Drive for Work
Your file sharing will soon get an added security as Google is looking to update its security settings for Google Drive for Work. The sharing of the corporate files will now be under better control of the IT administrators.
Google has announced that it is going to offer more data security for every business data in Google Drive through its new alerts-sharing controls and audit events that it is going to offer for Google Drive for work. This process will be completed in the next few weeks as announced by Google. Google has elaborated that a company that wants to keep the files created by the research department internal needs to just adjust the drive settings in the Admin control to achieve it.
By doing so, the IT administrators will be able to limit the file sharing from the research department to users who are in the same domain. This way the security settings can be adjusted to suit various departments so that each department will have its own share settings. The new security settings, update for Google Drive for work will start from today and will be carried out in the next month as well. There will be a new IRM (Information Rights Management) setting offered for the file creators to control how files can be handled and shared.
They will be able to limit the copying, downloading and printing of the files under their control. If there are any sensitive files that need to be accessed only by certain people, then IRM will help in preventing the files from being copied by people who do not have access to the files. The IRM security setting can be applied to any kind of file created in Google Docs that also includes presentations, spreadsheets and documents.
